and a new personal best 5K time: 23"43'. Keisha and I are competing to get back into shape and lose some weight. We're going to be motivating each other, and cross posting on Sundays. She's trying to lose 36, and I'm trying to shed 30. I'd like to drop from 225 to 195. I'm not sure if that's really possible with my build, but I'm going to give it the old college try. The last time I was below 200 was my sophomore year in college. Most of the weight I want to lose is right around my gut.

I just hope she doesn't quit once she realizes that she doesn't stand a chance at beating me. I would rather see her take it as motivation.

My other goal is to improve my running: speed and endurance. I'm currently focusing on the 5k, but will soon move to the 10k as I'm running my first one on August 31st, The Human Race (get it?). I set my personal record time today, but I'm not sure if I want to focus on continuing to lower it over that distance, or focus on longer distance with a slightly slower pace.
